Gods exhibits an attractive, cell-shaded art style that brings its gigantic, grotesque bosses to life and uses skillful scaling to traverse its vast but linear levels. While most of the action-adventure game is viewed from a first-person perspective, “God Mode” lets you manipulate the environment from a strategic, top-down perspective to solve puzzles and gain the upper hand in combat.
Plenty of room to maneuver comes in handy for physically dodging projectiles or spinning around to engage enemies with swords and shields when surrounded. The most fun weapon in the game, however, is the crossbow, which is manually reloaded using a crank and rewards careful judgment of distance and timing.

9. LONE ECHO AND LONE ECHO 2
Lone Echo and its sequel, Lone Echo 2, are Oculus Rift games designed specifically to be played on PC with the Oculus Rift headset. But with the Link Cable or Air Link, you can also play these phenomenal space explorers on your Quest or Quest 2.
It’s far from the first VR game that transports you into space – several spaceship combat sims have already tried their hand at it – but it does include the experience of floating through environments while pushing, grabbing, climbing, and moving through zero-G spaces, is unforgettable and the level of graphical detail is impressive.
Granted, they can cause a bit of motion sickness – which is why we recommend trying the free Echo VR game first to get a feel for the movements – but if you’re a VR veteran, these games are one of the best that the media can offer.

It’s fair to say that few people outside of Drifter, the studio hand-picked by original developer Epic to port Robo Recall to the Quest, expected Unplugged to play nearly identical to the version complete Oculus Rift released in 2024.
While the graphical downgrade is noticeable, the humorous VR wave shooter is arguably even more exciting due to the freedom of the 360-degree quest. The ability to teleport behind thieving robots, grab them by the chin, and spin them around to throw them at oncoming enemies was something that wasn’t easy in the chasm without risking serious ankle injuries.
Combined with Unplugged’s constant refresh rate, all of this makes getting a better score even more enjoyable. Everything from dodging (and deflecting) incoming bullets to using the crawlers as makeshift missile launchers feel like you’re participating in the robot-recall Olympics.
4. RESIDENT EVIL 4 VR
Resident Evil 4 VR is not only the best horror game that can be played on the Oculus Quest 2 headset, but it’s also one of the best VR games we’ve ever played.
The Capcom classic has been carefully recreated for this VR experience and puts you in the body of Leon S. Kennedy for some first-person undead action. Fans of the original will feel right at home, while newcomers to the game will be impressed by the updated graphics and textures, which will make you forget that you’re playing a game that’s over a decade old.
Capcom and Oculus have also managed to perfectly combine immersion and comfort. You take on the role of a droid repair technician aboard a spaceship. But when pirates attack, you must join the escape pods and land on Batuu, where you will have to fight enemies and find clues to recover your lost cargo. You can also take part in some Tales – short adventures – from the point of view of other characters from the Star Wars universe, such as a Jedi padawan and a bounty-hunting droid.
Thanks to the Last Call DLC, this game is much more sophisticated, and while we always loved it, we would now say that we love it. The DLC expands on all of the game’s stories, making it feel like a much more complete package and not increasing the overall price of the game much.

Beat Saber has sold over a million units on existing VR platforms for good reason – it’s highly addictive – and simple enough that anyone can jump in. The goal is to cut red and blue blocks to the beat of the music with two lightsabers while twisting your limbs to duck and avoid the advancing walls.
It’s fun on the lower difficulty levels, but it gets really interesting on ‘Hard’ or ‘Expert’ mode. Persevere and you’ll eventually enter a “flow state,” in which your arms work independently of any thoughts. Suddenly you’re cutting through blocks like Luke Skywalker if he had been drumming for Pendulum instead of becoming a Jedi.
Make sure you have enough headroom to perform 360-degree dance moves (a Quest exclusive), and plugging in external headphones (especially those with deep bass) is a must to enjoy the tracks from Billie Eilish, Imagine Dragons, Linkin Park, and LMFAO with the best audio possible.
